I am sure you don’t follow this grooming blog to hear some of my personal comments…but I can’t help myself especially on my Birthday. It was a perfect day, Grooming with Crasher in the 2 PB’s, Coffee and birthday cake w friends, a trip to our local hospital for a routine appointment and lunch in the Hospital Cafeteria with my lovely wife. Crasher and I groomed up 42 km of combis this morning, it was still dry cold powder. Temps got up to the 40’s today w sun so the snow will start transforming….what does that mean? the snow will start to turn into rounder crystals and be like spring skiing. It is still groomable but takes more time and most importantly it is skiable.! we have 4 groomers scheduled for 6 AM but with the transforming snow grooming takes a bit longer. We will concentrate on the main trails classic only and combination skate and classic. I am telling you this so you ASK at the front counter or the ticket booth and get current conditions which will be available. there will be great skiing but make sure you know which trails and when; for example if we do not groom Wolf tracks/ Puumala in the morning they should ski fine after temps warm up in the mid day. Ask about the EARLY SEASON SKI PASSES DISCOUNTED and about the ski shop sale.
