Foundation FAQs
Your financial support will help us keep these wonderful trials around for years to come. As a nonprofit our Vision is to sustain ABR’s legacy as the Midwest’s premier Nordic ski destination for generations to come; and to connect ABR trails to the larger community.
Supporting the Anderson Bluffs River Trails Foundation supports an organization that facilitates silent sports and offers meaningful experiences that benefit the wellbeing of the community.
When will the transition occur?
It is Eric and Angela’s plan to donate a significant portion of their land, buildings, equipment, and several cabins April 1, 2025.
How is the foundation connected to ABR Trails Inc.?
Legally, there is no connection between the entities. ABR Trails Inc. is the business owned by Eric Anderson and Angela Santini. Their ski business will “close” and ski operations will be turned over to the Anderson Bluffs and River Trails Foundation.
Why is there a foundation?
As part of their estate planning, Eric and Angela wish to establish the Foundation to operate the ski trails and leave the trails as a lasting legacy for future generations.
Is the foundation a non-profit status?
Yes, the IRS approved 501(c)(3) status in August 2019. Donations are tax-exempt.
How do I help the Foundation?
You can also help by donating, volunteering, providing in-kind services, donating materials/equipment/ tools, and many other ways.
Where will Eric & Angela be after April 1, 2025?
Currently, they plan to move up to the Hilltop House by the spring 2025. Eric wants to continue as Chief Groomer while he mentors other groomers. Eric and Angela will be enjoying a well-earned retirement and helping the Foundation as needed. Eric will also continue his A.B.R. Inc. construction business in the summer.
Who will manage the Foundation?
The Anderson Bluffs & River Trails Foundation Board will oversee the business as a traditional board of directors would within a nonprofit organization. The board will hire an Executive Director and additional employees as needed.
