About Us

ABR is a full service ski touring center located on over 1100 scenic acres of varied terrain along the Montreal River in Ironwood Michigan. Voted 2nd overall Best Cross-Country Ski Resort in North America in 2024, ABR Trails has been part of the ski community in northern Michigan for over 29 years.

The resort started in 1995 as ABR, by father and son Dave and Eric Anderson, with 13 km of ski trails. Today ABR Trails offers over 100 km plus 16 km of snowshoe trails.

Grooming is the cornerstone for which ABR built their reputation. Specialized grooming equipment and highly trained staff are dedicated to creating the most pristine trails in Michigan. ABR Trails provides skiers with live groom updates via Nordic Pulse.

Foundation Beginnings

The Anderson Bluffs & River Trails Foundation (ABR Trails) is a 501c3. The Foundation began in 2019 when Eric Anderson and Angela Santini, owners of ABR, one of the premier nordic ski destinations in the Midwest, took action to ensure the skiing experience they had developed over 29 years would endure. With the creation of the Foundation and the generous gift of the land and business, Eric and Angela have ensured the legacy they built will continue so that families can enjoy the land for decades to come. The transfer of land and ownership to the foundation is set for April 2025.
