May 2025 Transition Updates from Foundation President

Land and Building Transfers from Eric and Angela to the Foundation

The gift of a lifetime continues with the most recent deeding of properties and buildings from Eric Anderson and Angela Santini to the foundation this spring. The ABR Trails Foundation is now the proud – and grateful – owner of hundreds of acres of land known as the ABR ski trails, along with four rustic cabins, Cherry, Rock Fence, Balsam, and Hemlock, the ski shop and chalet and two barns (for storing the fleet of grooming equipment already gifted to the Foundation). “This is an exciting time for the Foundation!” said foundation President Will Andresen, “It’s starting to feel more and more real as we receive these gifts. In our Foundation’s short history, we get to start out with what took Eric and Angela decades to build. It’s a lot. But we continue to be very appreciative.” This deeding of properties and buildings was the next crucial step toward realizing the ski community’s shared vision to sustain ABR’s legacy for generations to come. The foundation is excited to build on the past success of ABR, while at the same time maintaining its historic feel. Next on our plate is to build and/or modify as many kilometers of low-snow skiing routes as funding permits, with hopes of extending the ski season and surviving any warming thaws. “As excited as we are about where we currently sit,” adds Andresen, “we are just as excited about where we plan to go.”
