On Saturday, December 14th, the Anderson Bluffs and River Trails Foundation hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially name a trail after Olympic gold medalist Jessie Diggins. The event also served as the kickoff to the 2024-2025 ski season.
The Jessie Diggins Honorary Trail is the Tamarack Two Track Trail that winds through the scenic bluffs and forests of the ABR property. The trail is named in honor of Diggins’ dedication to cross-country skiing and her support of the ABR Trails Foundation.
“We are thrilled to honor Jessie Diggins with this trail,” said Eric Anderson, on behalf of he and his wife, Angela Santini, Founders of the ABR Trails Foundation.
“Jessie is an inspiration to skiers of all ages, and we are proud to have her name associated with our trails.”
Diggins’ parents, Deb and Clay, were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. They shared stories about their daughter’s love of skiing early on at ABR and her passion for the sport.
“Jessie is so honored to have a trail named after her at ABR,” said Clay Diggins. “She has always loved skiing here, and she is so excited for the future of the ABR Trails Foundation.”
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by a meet-and-greet with the Foundation Board of Directors and a cookies and conversation event with the skiing community. The ABR Trails Foundation also announced a new charitable partnership with Jessie Diggins.
“We are excited to partner with Jessie Diggins to promote cross-country skiing and the ABR Trails Foundation,” said Anderson. “Jessie is a great ambassador for our sport, and an inspiration to those in the nordic community.”
The Jessie Diggins Honorary Trail is now open to the public. The ABR Trails Foundation encourages everyone to come out and experience this beautiful trail.
