Project Connect

The Anderson Bluffs & River Trails Foundation and Gogebic Range Health Foundation are working together to create a network of Nordic ski trails that allow residents and visitors to ski, hike, bike, and run from their front porch, from city to city, and into the wilds.

Our Vision Our Future

Connecting the Community

We are already making great progress!

The 90 acre property between Norrie Park and Miners Memorial Heritage Park has been enhanced. Building on existing efforts, Project Connect plans to fill in gaps, so that in the future skiing from ABR to Ramsay is a normal daily activity.

Project #8 was completed at the Erwin Township Historic Society park. We are thankful to A.B.R. Inc. for their in-kind donation of equipment and labor for trail construction.

Project #7 has progressed through the Foundation’s land on the Woodward Trail.

Community Partnerships Matter

Our shared vision for a healthier Gogebic Range has led to a strong partnership between the Gogebic Range Health Foundation and ABR Trails Foundation. By working together on community projects, we’re making a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

Upcoming Capital Projects

Our goals for the future include connecting the ABR trail system to the larger trail community, such as the Miners Memorial Heritage Park, the Iron Belle Trail, and Wolverine Nordic Trails. The river frontage and the connectivity of these trails/parcels and parks will be a very valuable asset in enhancing future development of outdoor recreational activities in our community.

The Anderson Bluffs & River Trails Foundation believes in improving health and well-being through Nordic skiing and education. Visit our Happy Trails articles to learn more.
